Perkins is making a comeback in ocean county with ten new locations planned

OCEANPORT, N.J. — Perkins Griddle & Go is expanding its footprint in New Jersey with six new units planned for Ocean County, led by franchisees Lisa Dalton and Anthony Degrande, who now hold the largest development agreement in the brand’s U.S. history.

The mother-son team originally committed to a 10-unit deal in Monmouth County in October 2024. Their enthusiasm for the fast-casual breakfast concept grew during the development of their first location, leading them to secure rights for an additional six locations in neighboring Ocean County.

The first U.S. location of Perkins Griddle & Go is set to open at Riverwalk Center, located at 700 Oceanport Ave., Unit 714, Oceanport. The restaurant will open near the site of the upcoming $1 billion Netflix Studios campus, a development expected to bring significant foot traffic to the area.

“Anthony and I are proud to be at the forefront of the Perkins Griddle & Go growth and add to our development commitment for a total of 16 new restaurants,” said Lisa Dalton, franchise owner. “We’re bringing Perkins back to New Jersey in a big way.”

The Griddle & Go format is tailored to busy consumers and emphasizes speed and convenience. It includes digital menu boards, self-order kiosks, and a compact café-style space for dine-in customers.

Perkins expansion gains national momentum

Dalton and Degrande’s expansion comes as Perkins Griddle & Go accelerates its growth across North America. Since launching in late 2024 with a flagship location in Canada, the brand has sold nearly 50 franchise locations, with additional agreements signed in California, Texas, and Calgary, Alberta.

“Lisa and Anthony are the perfect entrepreneurs to bring the all-new Perkins to Monmouth and Ocean Counties,” said Mike Ackley, Director of Franchise Development and Marketing with Ascent Hospitality Management.

Peter Ortiz, Chief Development Officer for Ascent, said the agreement would help strengthen the brand’s presence in a key regional market. “Their recent signing allows us to significantly grow our presence in New Jersey and across Monmouth County,” Ortiz said.

The first Oceanport café is expected to open in the coming months.
