PERTH AMBOY, NJ – The Perth Amboy Police Department made arrests in a drug bust targeting local smoke shops.

The Special Investigations Unit, after a month-long investigation, apprehended three individuals for selling unregulated marijuana.

The primary focus was Smokey Hut Smoke Shop and Mini Mart on Sayre Avenue, operating without a proper marijuana sales license. A secondary location, Smokey Hi on Main Street, Woodbridge Township, was also implicated.

On December 8, search warrants were executed at both shops and a Woodbridge residence, leading to the seizure of illegal marijuana.

The Perth Amboy and Woodbridge Police Departments, alongside the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, continue their commitment to curbing illegal drug activities.
