Pets reported missing after New Jersey house fire; police ask for public’s help

LEONIA, N.J. – A fire at a Leonia home Friday morning led to the escape of two pets, and police are asking for the public’s help in locating them.

The fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. near Grand Avenue and Schor Avenue, authorities said. During the incident, a black cat named Nico, approximately 10 years old, and a light brown dog named Nala, approximately 3 years old, fled the residence.

The Leonia Police Department has released photos of the missing pets and urged residents to report any sightings.
