Philadelphia Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges in Hartly

HARTLY, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested 40-year-old Jermaine Morris of Philadelphia, on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force, patrolling the area of Hourglass Road and Halltown Road, observed a BMW X5 failing to maintain its lane while heading east on Halltown Road.

Upon conducting a traffic stop on Hourglass Road, detectives identified the driver as Jermaine Morris.

A subsequent computer inquiry revealed that Morris had active warrants, a suspended driver’s license, and was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

During his arrest, a search of the BMW yielded significant quantities of drugs and ammunition, including approximately 73.34 grams of powder cocaine, 19.74 grams of crack cocaine, 1.48 grams of heroin, 60 units of Xanax, 43 rounds of .380 ammunition, and $2,986 in suspected drug proceeds.

Morris was taken to Troop 3, charged with various drug-related offenses, and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. He is currently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $194,350 cash bond.
