Shooting in North Philadelphia Results in Multiple Injuries and Arrest

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Officers from the 39th District responded to a shooting incident on North Bambrey Street on Tuesday. They found two women injured; a 46-year-old shot in the foot and a 29-year-old shot in the thigh. Both victims were promptly transported to Temple University Hospital and listed in stable condition.

Additional victims related to the same incident included a 23-year-old man with a buttock injury, a 19-year-old man back-wounded and in critical condition, and a 34-year-old woman with a hand injury. These three victims, along with a 16-year-old girl with graze wounds and an 18-year-old woman, also shot in the buttocks, were transported to the same hospital in stable condition, except for the critically injured man.

Investigation identified three suspects who, after firing the shots, fled in a charcoal gray Acura TSX from the northeast corner of 26th and Somerset Streets. The suspects were described as three unknown Black males in all-black and all-white clothing, driving a notably damaged vehicle with missing features and decals.

An update by the department on Friday announced the arrest of 23-year-old Tyheed Harvey, who was apprehended while entering the suspect vehicle, identified through ongoing investigations. Harvey faces charges including attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin J. Bethel condemned the violence and praised the quick and effective response of the police, which led to Harvey’s arrest. He emphasized the department’s commitment to justice and public safety in the wake of the violence.
