Philadelphia police investigating pattern of robberies, abudctions

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Special Victims Unit and Northeast Detectives are probing a series of abduction and robbery incidents believed to be related due to modus operandi, geographic proximity, description of offenders, and the vehicle used.

On Tuesday, a woman was robbed and forced into a white U-Haul cargo van in the early hours of the morning. Later the same day, a man in his car was targeted at a bank’s drive-through. The following day, another man was forced into the same van and coerced into withdrawing money at gunpoint.

The suspects in these incidents have been described as black males, in their late teens to early twenties, all armed with black handguns. In two of the incidents, the van used was a white U-Haul.
