Philadelphia Police Officer Injured in Traffic Crash

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A police officer from the 22nd District was injured in a traffic accident while on duty this Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 4:37 PM when the officer, assigned to the ATV detail and operating a police dirt bike (7M1), was struck by a black Honda CRV during a U-turn maneuver by the civilian driver.

The collision resulted in the officer sliding into a parked vehicle and sustaining injuries. He was promptly transported to Temple Hospital by Medic 57, although his current condition has not yet been disclosed.

The female driver of the Honda did not suffer any injuries, and her vehicle sustained minor front-end damage. The police dirt bike involved in the accident was reported as totaled.
