Greensburg, PA – David Stone, a 62-year-old from Pike County, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at Keystone State Park in Westmoreland County. The conviction was announced by Westmoreland County District Attorney Nicole W. Ziccarelli on December 4, 2024.

Stone faced charges of indecent assault and corruption of minors, to which he was found guilty after a trial that concluded with the jury’s unanimous decision. The incident occurred in June 2020 while Stone, his wife, and the victim, then aged 13, were camping at the park. According to the testimony given by the now 17-year-old victim, Stone inappropriately touched her inside a camper and attempted to guide her hands toward his groin area.

The case came to light when the victim reported the assault to child welfare officials in 2021. The legal proceedings highlighted the trauma endured by the young girl, now receiving some measure of justice through Stone’s conviction.

This is not Stone’s first encounter with legal issues of this nature. He is also facing separate charges in Tioga County for allegedly inappropriately touching another young girl in 2008, indicating a disturbing pattern of behavior.

District Attorney Ziccarelli expressed her gratitude towards the Pennsylvania State Police and Assistant District Attorney Leo Ciaramitaro for their diligent work in prosecuting the case. “This conviction sends a strong message that such acts will not be tolerated, and we will pursue justice vigorously to protect our children,” Ziccarelli stated.

Stone’s sentencing is scheduled within the next 90 days, where the court will decide his punishment based on the jury’s verdict.
