Pittsburgh man arrested in fatal Christmas Day shooting in Shaler

SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 25-year-old Pittsburgh man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found in Shaler Township the day after Christmas.

Shaler Township Police discovered the body of 45-year-old Andre Wallace on December 26 in a wooded area near the 200 block of Hahn Road. Wallace had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

An investigation by the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit, aided by witness statements and surveillance footage, revealed the shooting took place late on December 25 near the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive in Pittsburgh.

Detectives, working with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, identified Eugene Jones as the suspect. He was arrested on January 16 in Pittsburgh by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Jones faces multiple charges, including homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and carrying a firearm without a license.
