Pittsburgh Police Arrest Suspect in Oakland Sexual Assault Case

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Special Victims Unit has arrested Javonne Thompson, 35, for the sexual assault of a woman on the 200 block of Melwood Avenue in the Oakland neighborhood.

Thompson faces multiple charges, including Sexual Assault, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt, Robbery, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Unlawful Restraint, Indecent Assault, Terroristic Threats, Possessing Instruments of a Crime, and Tampering with Evidence. At the time of his arrest, Thompson was already detained at the Allegheny County Jail on charges unrelated to this case.
