Plainfield Council recognizes Police Chaplain and hero who saved woman from sinking vehicle in lake

PLAINFIELD, NJ – At this week’s Plainfield Town Council meeting, two awards were presented. The first was to long-time Police Chaplain Brad Long received the Town of Plainfield Community of Values Staff Award from Town Council President Robin Brandgard. Dennis Darringer, was presented a Citizen Commendation Award and a PPD Community Partnership challenge coin for his quick action in assisting police officers with saving a woman in a sinking vehicle in a pond in December of 2021.
