Santa Fe, NM – On January 18, 2021, at approximately 2:18 AM, Santa Fe Police Department officers responded to the area of Rancho Siringo in reference to a call that someone had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located Edwin Anaya, 33 at a nearby intersection and questioned him about the call. While the initial responding officers were speaking with Anaya, other officers canvassed the 2200 block of Rancho Siringo and located a deceased male with a gunshot wound, in the doorway of a residence. The deceased male was later identified as Peter Gurule, 40.
Mr. Anaya has been arrested and charged on one count of 1st Degree Murder.
