Police arrest suspect for August murder of Jamir Washington

0-year -old Jamir Washington-Morgan, a fugitive wanted in connection with the August shooting death of a 29-year-old man in North Braddock.

NORTH BRADDOCK, PA – Police have arrested a suspect wanted for the murder of a 20-year-old this past August in West Mifflin.

In a statement issued this morning, sheriff Kevin M. Kraus announced that deputies apprehended 20-year-old Jamir Washington-Morgan, a fugitive who was wanted in connection with the August shooting death of a 29-year-old man in North Braddock.

A request for assistance from Allegheny County Police had previously been made by local police, and in the past several weeks, detectives have been conducting surveillance at several locations to locate Washington-Morgan.

Deputies from the Allegheny County Police Department were called to the Midway Housing Complex in West Mifflin as a result of that investigation.

At 12:30 pm, deputies surrounded a residence and located Washington-Morgan in the living room. Additionally, deputies recovered a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine from Washington-Morgan’s couch.
