Police arrest suspect in April Shooting Death of Norfolk Woman

Norfolk, VA – A Norfolk man was arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Ocean View that claimed the life of a woman last month.

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 16, at approximately 2:10 a.m., when police received a report of a gunshot victim in the 1900 block of E. Ocean View Avenue.

Responding officers found 32-year-old Terri R. Denmark at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. Denmark was pronounced deceased on-site.

Following a thorough investigation, police have charged 29-year-old Dayqwan Stevenson with second-degree murder and use of a firearm. On May 18th, Stevenson was arrested without incident by the Norfolk Police Fugitive Squad and Norfolk Police Special Operations Team in the City of Norfolk.

Stevenson is currently in custody at the Norfolk City Jail, where he is being held without bail.
