Police Catch Man Wanted for Burglary in Crawl Space Under Monmouth Diner

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ – In the early morning hours on Sunday, Ocean Township Police responded to a disturbance call at the Blue Swan Diner where they discovered evidence of vandalism.

Officers were dispatched around 2:30 AM after reports emerged of glass breaking at the location. They found a broken window at the diner and secured the area to investigate the incident further.

Upon entering the diner, the police located Leamon D. Washington hiding in a crawl space. Washington was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. The investigation revealed his involvement in several recent commercial burglaries in Ocean Township and nearby areas. Washington faces multiple charges, including burglary, possession of burglar tools, theft, and criminal mischief.
