Police Continue Search for Brooklyn Moped Bandit

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is continuing their investigation into a summertime grand larceny incident. The event occurred on August 18 at around 8:45 p.m. in front of 6007 Broadway in the 50th Precinct.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was using her iPhone 11 when an unknown male on a moped snatched it from her hands and fled northbound on Broadway.

The phone’s case included a wallet with a bank card and credit card. No injuries were reported.

The suspect later used the stolen credit card for an unauthorized purchase of about $500 at Samuel Boutique, located at 188 Audubon Avenue.

The individual is described as male with a dark complexion, medium build, and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a brown Pittsburgh Pirates baseball hat, a brown hooded sweatshirt, and dark blue jeans.
