Police Find 24-Year-Old Shot Dead on U Street

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting of a 24-year-old man in the early hours of Saturday in Northwest D.C.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at approximately 3:38 a.m. at the 900 block of U Street. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

24-year-old Diamonte Lewis of Southeast D.C. was identified as the victim.
