Police hunt for two women in violent Southeast DC home invasion

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two women are being sought after forcing their way into a Southeast home and assaulting the resident before fleeing, police said.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, in the 5000 block of Central Avenue. Investigators said two female suspects pushed their way into the victim’s home and began assaulting her. During the struggle, the victim grabbed a knife in an attempt to defend herself. The suspects fled before officers arrived. No injuries were reported.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspects, and police have released the footage as part of the investigation.
