Police identify victim found dead in Harlem

NEW YORK, NY – On Thursday, April 20, police were dispatched to the intersection of East 105 Street and 5 Avenue in Manhattan.

The call, received at approximately 11:30 p.m., reported an unconscious male in need of assistance.

Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a 63-year-old man lying motionless on the ground. The individual showed no signs of responsiveness. Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and transported the unresponsive male to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital.

He was pronounced deceased on Friday, April 21.

Following an initial examination, investigators determined that the man had been the victim of an assault committed by an unidentified male. The suspect responsible for the attack has not yet been apprehended, and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Authorities have classified the case as a homicide.

The deceased has been identified as Charles Cunningham, a 63-year-old resident of 1345 5 Avenue in New York City. No arrests have been made thus far, as law enforcement continues their efforts to gather evidence and bring the perpetrator to justice.
