Police investigate fatal overnight shooting near Westside Bypass in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. — A fatal shooting is under investigation by Cambridge Police after an overnight incident near the Westside Bypass and Hudson Road.

Authorities confirmed early Wednesday that officers responded to the scene, where one individual was found deceased. The Cambridge Police Department is leading the investigation with support from the Dorchester County State’s Attorney’s Office and Maryland State Police Crime Scene Units.

No further details regarding the victim’s identity or potential suspects have been released.

Investigation remains ongoing

Police have not indicated a motive or whether any arrests have been made. The area remains an active crime scene as investigators continue to gather evidence.

The Cambridge Police Department posted an update on Facebook saying, “At the current time the Cambridge Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the area of the Westside Bypass and Hudson Rd.”
