Police investigate shots fired incident in Albemarle County neighborhood

Albemarle County, VA – Police are investigating after multiple reports of gunfire were made Friday evening in a residential area.

Around 8:06 p.m. on August 29, officers responded to the 2400 block of Peyton Drive following calls of shots fired. First responders arrived within minutes and found a vehicle with property damage. No injuries were reported.

The investigation remains active. Police are asking nearby residents to check their home surveillance systems for any footage that may help identify those involved. Video can be emailed to crimestoppers@albemarle.org, and additional information can be shared anonymously by calling 434-977-4000.
