Police Investigate Violent Assault at Columbus McDonald’s

COLUMBUS, OH — Columbus Police are currently investigating a severe assault that occurred late Thursday night, May 24, 2024, in front of a McDonald’s located at 1972 N High St. At approximately 11:24 PM, a patrol officer was flagged down and informed about the incident.

The victim, who sustained multiple facial injuries including a broken jaw and other bones, reported that the assault began after he commented on an intoxicated individual obstructing traffic on High St. The remark led to a confrontation where the intoxicated person, taking offense, harassed the victim and his girlfriend. As the victim tried to leave the scene, he was struck from behind, knocked to the ground, and subsequently kicked multiple times in the face.

The Columbus Police have identified two males as suspects and two females as persons of interest in this investigation. Efforts are underway to locate these individuals as part of the ongoing investigation into the violent assault.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident or the individuals involved to contact the Columbus Police Department to assist in the resolution of this case and to help prevent further violence in the community.
