Police investigating after 69-year-old man assaulted, robbed of $2,000 in Brooklyn

NEW YORK, NY – Detectives from the NYPD are investigating a robbery in Brooklyn on Saturday that took place shortly after midnight in the Bushwick neighborhood.

According to the police, a 69-year-old man was in the rear of 1332 Halsey Street when an unknown assailant threw him to the ground and stole $2,000 from him before escaping eastbound on Halsey Street on a dark-colored gas-operated scooter.

The victim suffered minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a male aged between 25 and 27 years old, approximately 5’10” to 5’11” tall, and weighing about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black bubble jacket with a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath, blue jeans, and black sneakers.
