Police Investigating After Homeless Man Found Dead in Hyattsville

HYATTSVILLE, MD – Avrell Milam, a 33-year-old man with no fixed address, was found dead in the early hours of Tuesday.

 Officers from the Hyattsville Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive person on the 2900 block of Belcrest Center Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found Milam outside, suffering from trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation.

Detectives are currently working to identify suspects and establish a motive for the incident. The Hyattsville Police Department investigates all homicides occurring within the city.
