Police Investigating After Man Smashed in Head with Glass Bottle

UTICA, NY – Police in Utica are investigating after a man was assaulted with a glass bottle in the head, causing a laceration to his face.

According to police, on Monday, at approximately 10:50 PM Utica Police units were dispatched to a residence on Marilyn Drive for an assault.

“Upon arrival, the victim was being treated for a laceration to his face. He informed the officers that a male whom he was familiar with struck him with a glass bottle causing the laceration,” police said. “An investigator with the Criminal Investigations Division handled the incident and on August 2nd, 2022 John Yarbrough age 34 of Utica was arrested.”
