Police investigating deadly Times Square shooting

NEW YORK, NY – An argument between three individuals near Times Square Thursday night turned deadly as a 22-year-old was shot and killed as a result.

Police reported the shooting at around 5:30 pm in the area of West 44th Street and 8th Avenue. According to the NYPD, the 22-year-old victim was engaged in a fight with two unknown male suspects when one of those suspects pulled a gun and shot him.

The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest and tried to flee his attackers, falling to the grounding front of a deli located at 43rd Street and 8th Avenue.

He was pronounced dead after being taken by EMS to Mt. Sinai West Hospital.

A large police presence was noted in Times Square after the shooting.

At this time, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
