Police investigating husband and wife murder-suicide in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation into an apparent murder-suicide in Franklin Township. The Gloucester County Prosecutors Office has announced the death of 47-year-old John Kolonich and his wife Melissa, 42.

Police here responded to a call of a man dead inside a car outside of a home on Thursday. Police arrived to determine Kolonich had committed suicide with a gun.

As the investigation proceeded, the investigating officers located Kolonich’s wife Melissa dead inside their home on Florawood Court. She had been stabbed multiple times investigators said.

The Prosecutor’s office suspects Kolonich stabbed his wife and then went to his car with a file and took his own life.
