Police Investigating Stolen Unattended Vehicle in Franklin

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police are investigating after a vehicle left running in front of a Somerset Street business was stolen on August 7th.

An East Brunswick, NJ resident reported his vehicle stolen during the afternoon hours from a business located on Somerset St. after he left it running outside of the business. The suspect was described as a black male. The vehicle was later recovered in an outside jurisdiction.

The following incidents also occurred on August 7th.

Vehicle Theft

In an unrelated event, a resident reported a burglary to her unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours in the area of Camner Ave. A wallet with $300.00 in it was taken by the unknown suspect(s).

Police reported a resident reported that their teenager was followed by a black male in a red vehicle during the late evening hours in the area of Julie Ct. It was unknown what the suspect’s intentions were, but it caused the juvenile to become alarmed after he attempted to speak to her.
