Police Recover Loaded Handgun During Suspicious Person Investigation

BALTIMORE — A man was arrested on Friday night in the Western District after officers recovered a loaded handgun during an investigation, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

At approximately 8:39 p.m., officers from the Northeast and Western District Action Teams were conducting an investigation on the 1700 block of North Calhoun Street when they noticed a male suspect exhibiting behaviors consistent with being armed. Upon further inspection, officers found a loaded handgun concealed in the suspect’s pants leg.

The arrest was made without incident. After the suspect complained of a medical issue, he was taken to an area hospital for evaluation before being transported to the Central Booking Intake facility.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, but he is expected to face charges related to the handgun violation.
