STAFFORD, VA — Two separate assaults occurred in Stafford County this week, including a fight in the parking lot of a YMCA and another altercation between students at Brooke Point High School.

On Sunday afternoon, a disagreement between two women over personal belongings escalated into a physical altercation in the parking lot of the YMCA at 212 Butler Road. Deputies responded at 4:46 p.m. and charged one of the women with assault and battery. She was later released on personal recognizance.

The following morning, at Brooke Point High School, two students engaged in a fight that required intervention. The altercation, initially broken up by a fellow student, reignited moments later, prompting the involvement of Deputy D.J. Taylor, who was on-site in his role as a School Resource Officer. Both students received criminal complaints for assault and battery.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office continues to monitor incidents in the area to ensure community safety.
