Police Say Double Stabbing At Camp Springs Laundromat Domestic Related

CAMP SPRINGS, MD – Prince George’s County Police have charged 42-year-old John Marin Morales of Oxon Hill with the murder of his girlfriend, 39-year-old Yesenia Jaramillo Sosa, also of Oxon Hill, following a domestic-related stabbing incident inside a Camp Springs laundromat.

The incident happened right across the street from the gates of Joint Base Andrews.

The tragic event unfolded on March 5th, 2024, at around 12:30 pm in the 4900 block of Camp Springs, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement officials.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Sosa suffering from stab wounds inside the business where she was employed. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Morales was also found with stab wounds and was transported to the hospital with injuries deemed life-threatening, after the preliminary investigation suggested he stabbed himself after the fatal attack on Sosa.

Detectives are still investigating the motive behind the stabbing. Morales faces charges of first-degree murder, among other related charges. The Prince George’s County Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading to this violent act and urges anyone with information to come forward.
