BETHESDA, MD – The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating two cases of pickpocketing that occurred in Bethesda and is seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects. The department has released surveillance photographs of the individuals involved.
The incidents took place on Thursday, September 21st. One victim reported her wallet stolen after receiving alerts about fraudulent credit card transactions at various stores. It was discovered that her wallet was missing from her purse. The theft was traced back to Piccoli Piatti Pizzeria in the 10200 block of Old Georgetown Rd. On the same day, another victim’s wallet was stolen at the Fish Taco in the 10300 block of Old Georgetown Rd.
The first suspect is described as a white female, seen wearing sunglasses, a purple t-shirt, a black zip-up sweatshirt, white and red Nike sneakers, and carrying a black purse. She was also observed wearing a bright blue shirt with ‘NASA’ on the front, a black hoodie, and the same sneakers and purse.
The second suspect is a Black male, noted wearing a black baseball hat, sunglasses, a grey tracksuit with a white t-shirt underneath, and black Nike sneakers. In another instance, he was seen in an Eagles baseball hat, sunglasses, a white t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
The Montgomery County Police Department urges anyone with information about these suspects to come forward. The release of the photographs is part of the department’s efforts to engage the community in helping to solve these crimes and prevent further incidents of pickpocketing in the area.
