Police seek help locating missing 70-year-old Manhattan woman

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Mercedes Leonardo, a 70-year-old woman last seen at her Manhattan residence on Thursday morning.

Leonardo, who lives at 2937 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in the 32nd Precinct, was last spotted at approximately 8:05 a.m. on December 5, 2024, according to police.

She is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a dark gray sweater with white spots, a yellow dress, and carrying a brown purse.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the NYPD.

Authorities are working to ensure her safe return and encourage community members to remain vigilant.
