Police Seek Scooter Bandit in Botched Necklace Theft

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying an individual involved in an attempted robbery.

The incident took place on Thursday, October 12, around 1:00 pm.

A 34-year-old pregnant woman was crossing the intersection of Grand Concourse and Mount Eden when an unknown male on a scooter tried to snatch her necklace.

The man failed in his attempt and escaped heading west on East Mount Eden Avenue.

The suspect is described as a male of medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a white t-shirt, light blue jeans, and white sneakers.
