Police seek suspect after UTV slams into cruiser in Pasadena hit-and-run

PASADENA, Md. – A reckless joyride outside an elementary school turned into a police chase when a UTV smashed into a cruiser and fled the scene, Anne Arundel County police said Monday.

The incident unfolded around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 14, when officers were called to the 1700 block of Poplar Ridge Road after complaints of utility terrain vehicles driving recklessly around Fort Smallwood Elementary School.

When officers arrived, the riders bolted. As police units moved in, one UTV struck a responding cruiser near Belhaven Avenue and Poplar Ridge Road, damaging the vehicle before speeding away. The officer behind the wheel was not hurt.

Investigators are now working to identify the individuals involved. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Eastern District at 410-222-6145.
