Police Seek Suspect in Armed Robbery at Brooklyn Business

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place earlier this month in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn.

According to police, at approximately 12:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, an unidentified individual entered a commercial establishment located at 302 9th Street. The suspect displayed a firearm and threatened a 35-year-old male employee. The individual then removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and stole a cellphone from the victim before fleeing the scene on foot, traveling eastbound on 10th Street.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect is described as a male with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, a multi-colored jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a black garbage bag.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact authorities as the investigation continues.
