Police seek suspect in armed robbery at Manhattan business

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a commercial robbery that occurred in Washington Heights on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

At approximately 8:40 p.m., an unidentified individual entered a business at 2545 Amsterdam Avenue, displayed a firearm, and forcibly took about $300 in cash. The suspect then fled on foot, heading southbound on West 186th Street.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts to contact the police as the investigation continues.
