Police seek suspect in forcible touching incident on Bronx bus

NEW YORK CITY - MTA Bus Route x7 on Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street, New York City, USA.

BRONX, N.Y. — Police are searching for a man accused of forcibly touching a woman on a Bronx bus last month.

The incident occurred on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at approximately 5:15 p.m. A 30-year-old woman was riding the BX6 MTA bus near the intersection of East 163rd Street and Third Avenue when an unidentified man approached her from behind and touched her buttocks, police said.

The man then fled the bus, heading westbound on East 163rd Street. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, brown eyes, and a beard, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He is believed to be between 40 and 45 years old and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a New York Knicks baseball cap, and black and white sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
