Police seek suspect in stabbing of 14-year-old girl in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. — A 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the back on Monday afternoon at the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Brook Avenue, and police are searching for the attacker.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:54 p.m. when an unidentified female suspect approached the teen, pushed her, displayed a knife, and stabbed her, according to the NYPD. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a female with a medium build and medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black-and-white sneakers.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to contact authorities.
