PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are searching for two suspects involved in an early-morning carjacking that took place at a gas station in the city’s 35th District on July 17.

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division reports that around 1:40 a.m., a woman was sitting in her car at a gas pump at 1440 Cheltenham Avenue when two unknown Black males in black clothing and masks approached her. One of the suspects brandished a gun and forced the woman out of her vehicle before stealing it.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects arriving at the gas station in a black Chevrolet sedan, which was last seen traveling westbound on Cheltenham Avenue after the incident. One suspect fled in the victim’s car, while the other returned to the Chevrolet and drove off.

Police have released video of the incident, which can be viewed at the Philadelphia Police Department’s YouTube channel or at phillypolice.com/news.

Police are asking the public not to approach the suspects if seen and to call 911 immediately.
