NEW YORK, N.Y. — Authorities are investigating a case of debit card fraud after a woman reported several unauthorized transactions made using a cloned version of her card at multiple Home Depot locations in New York City and Nassau County.
The 36-year-old victim contacted police on Wednesday, June 4, around 6:00 p.m. after noticing suspicious activity on her account. An investigation revealed that between May 24 and May 27, two unidentified individuals used a cloned debit card to make multiple purchases totaling approximately $588.
The fraudulent transactions occurred at Home Depot stores within the boundaries of the NYPD’s 103rd and 79th Precincts as well as in Nassau County.
The suspects are both described as males with dark complexions, approximately 6 feet tall. No further identifying information has been released.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
Police are urging anyone with information on the suspects or the transactions to contact authorities.
