NYPD seeks suspect in full burka in Queens burglary investigation

QUEENS, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a person wanted in connection with a residential burglary on Oak Avenue earlier this month. The suspect was seen fully covered in a black burka, including a face covering and black shoes.

According to the NYPD’s 109th Precinct, the incident occurred on May 6, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m. when the individual entered a home by opening a first-floor kitchen window. Once inside, the suspect allegedly removed various pieces of jewelry before fleeing the location.

Surveillance images released by police show the person walking on a sidewalk in the area around the time of the break-in. Due to the full-body covering, including face veil, investigators have not been able to determine the individual’s gender, age, or other distinguishing features.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the total value of the stolen property has not been disclosed. Detectives are continuing their investigation and reviewing additional footage from nearby locations.
