Potomac Teen Arrested for Armed Robbery in Bethesda

A 17-year-old from Potomac has been apprehended in connection with an armed robbery at the Tobacco King in Bethesda on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. in the 7700 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The suspect, after placing a large order at the establishment, brandished a handgun when asked for identification by an employee. Subsequently, the suspect fled the scene with stolen goods.

Officers from the 2nd District swiftly located the suspect, matching the provided description, at a nearby bus stop. The juvenile was arrested without resistance and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

The suspect faces charges of armed robbery and firearm-related offenses and was released on a $10,000 bond following processing.
