Poughkeepsie Shooting Victim Not Cooperating With Police Investigation

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – An early Thursday morning shooting in Poughkeepsie left one individual with non-life-threatening injuries.

City of Poughkeepsie police reported the incident occurred on Virginia Avenue around 1:15 a.m.

The victim, transported to a local hospital prior to police arrival, was described by Police Captain Richard Wilson as “fairly uncooperative.”

Investigators recovered several shell casings at the scene.

With the investigation ongoing, the police are seeking information from the public. They ask anyone with knowledge about the incident to contact the City of Poughkeepsie police confidential tip line.
