Prevent drunk driving crashes on Cinco de Mayo in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Dozens of alcohol-related crashes occurred in Virginia during the Cinco de Mayo weekend in 2022, causing injuries and even a fatality.

To prevent similar incidents from happening again, Drive Safe Hampton Roads is sponsoring the 757 Sober Ride service this year. Users can visit https://www.drivesafehr.org/757-sober-ride/ to get a promotional code for up to $15 off one Lyft ride in the Hampton Roads area beginning Friday at 3 p.m.

Those who want to use the service must be 21 years old or above and are subject to Lyft’s Terms of Service.

The offer is valid for both new and existing Lyft users, while supplies last. The 757 Sober Ride does not allow advanced booking or scheduling of pick-ups.
