Prince George’s County police investigate fatal shooting in Laurel

LAUREL, Md. — Prince George’s County Police detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old man Tuesday night in the unincorporated section of Laurel. The victim has been identified as Jerome Stocks, a Laurel resident.

Officers responded to the 12000 block of Silverbirch Lane around 9:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Stocks outside, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify any suspects involved in the shooting.
