Purse Snatching Teen Arrested in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — A recent arrest has been made by detectives from the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District following a purse snatching incident in Northwest Washington.

The incident occurred on March 17, at about 12:05 PM, at the intersection of 18th Street and Lamont Street, Northwest. A woman was accosted by a suspect who forcefully took her handbag and fled the scene.

Following a thorough investigation, 19-year-old Charles Monroe from Southeast, D.C., was apprehended on Wednesday and has been charged with robbery involving force and violence.
