Queens Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault of Multiple Victims

QUEENS, NY – Dr. Zhi Alan Cheng, 33, a resident of Broadway in Astoria, faced his arraignment on Monday after being indicted on 50 counts, ranging from sexual abuse to rape.

The charges stem from his alleged misconduct at New York-Presbyterian Queens hospital, as well as assaults in his Queens residence.

Evidence suggests Cheng drugged and assaulted women, both in his private residence and at the hospital, capturing the acts on film. Recovered videos from his home show various instances of abuse, including unconscious patients and acquaintances. Among the charges are predatory sexual assault, rape in the first degree, and unlawful surveillance.

District Attorney Melinda Katz describes the case as a grave violation of trust and human decency. She asked potential victims or those with information to contact the Special Victims Bureau at (718) 286-6505 or SpecialVictims@queensda.org.

Following a previous indictment in December 2022, Cheng’s medical license has been suspended. He currently remains in custody without bail, facing potential life sentences.
