Queens Man Arrested in Connection to November Homicide

Queens, NY – In a breakthrough in an ongoing investigation, authorities have arrested Shyquell Jervey, 23, of Queens, NY, in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man, Louis Niles.

Jervey was taken into custody on Monday at 1405 hours within the 105th Precinct.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, police responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot near 145 Drive and 184 Street. Officers arrived on the scene to find Niles seated in the driver’s seat of a 2018 Nissan Maxima, unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the chest.

The vehicle had collided with a telephone pole where it came to rest. Emergency medical services transported Niles to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Jervey has been charged with murder and two counts of criminal possession of a loaded firearm. The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities continue to seek additional information related to the case.
