Queens Man Arrested on Multiple Charges Including Murder

QUEENS, NY – Maurice Smith, a 33-year-old Queens resident, has been apprehended and faces several charges including murder, strangulation, tampering with evidence, and criminal possession of a weapon. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Talil Maddox of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead due to an apparently violent assault, according to police.

On Monday, police were called to a scene of an assault at 109-02 Merrick Boulevard. An unidentified male was found with multiple stab wounds and later died at Jamaica Hospital. Meanwhile, another man, 39, sought treatment for a gunshot wound at the same hospital, believed to have been injured near the crime scene.

The individual with the gunshot wound is in stable condition. The investigation into this complex case continues as authorities piece together the events leading to the tragedy.
